Our School

Pembroke is a vibrant and exciting School catering for a diverse community of students. The School was established in 1974 through the amalgamation of two neighbouring schools – Girton Girls’ School and King’s College, a school for boys.

The School Motto, Ex Unitate Vires - Out of Unity, Strength - reflects our historical origins and our belief in the value of co-education.

As Pembroke School celebrates our 50th Anniversary, we are delighted to share our new Strategic Plan.

The Pembroke Student Charter is a recently developed document that sits alongside our School Aims and guides students in the values important to Pembroke.

The governance of the School is vested in the School Board who delegate the management and day-to-day running of the School to the Principal.

A large and cohesive team of around 300 people work and teach at Pembroke. Staff are supported, encouraged and respected as professionals and experts in their field.

Pembroke School is located 5 kilometres east of the city of Adelaide, South Australia, in a residential area which is quiet and characterised by wonderful gardens, parks and trees – the leafy suburbs as they are known in Adelaide.

Pembroke makes a commitment to create a better world through intercultural awareness and understanding as an IB World School.

Pembroke recognises the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and respects their ongoing connection with the land.

One of the many ways in which Pembroke is truly independent is our unique approach to the collective spirituality of our diverse community.

Pembroke School has developed and regularly reviews and updates policies on a wide range of issues, including those directly affecting the wellbeing of our School Community.
