It forms part of our ongoing commitment to campus renewal which in recent years has resulted in significant advancements across the School and bold visions for the future.
2017 saw the completion of Pembroke’s stunning new Environmental Education Centre at Old Watulunga, our incredible 17-hectare learning habitat on the Finniss River just over an hour’s drive south of the School.
Two years later, we opened another architectural feat with the Shipsters Road building for Middle School Art, Science, Design and Digital Technology which houses dozens of unique learning hubs across three storeys.
In 2024, we unveiled the transformation of the John Moody Centre featuring the new John Moody Dining Room for boarders and other guests, the King’s Café for Middle School students and staff, and Yellow Submarine Too – a social enterprise café open to the public.
Alongside our vibrant classroom and landscaping upgrades, we were delighted to commence 2025 with the reopening of Turner House on Girton Campus which is specifically designed for many of our senior boarders, complementing the Senior School’s young adult pre-university environment.
We look forward to our next phase of campus development with plans for new Junior School playground spaces and an outdoor covered learning area, a state-of-the-art Food Technology Centre in Middle School and new senior Science and STEM laboratories, in tandem with ongoing classroom improvements across each Sub-School.
As we devise our new Master Plan, the centrepiece will be the future redevelopment of the Haslam Precinct, a long-term vision which includes:
- A world-class multifunctional centre featuring state-of-the-art sports courts which can double as a venue for whole-School assemblies and other significant performances
- A variety of teaching, learning and gathering spaces which are fit for purpose for the School’s broad curriculum
- Stunning event spaces including one overlooking Haslam Oval where our old scholars can gather and reminisce over memorabilia displays that honour our past
- A full AFL oval, new tennis and netball courts, a practice pitch and leading-edge athletics facilities
As always, we thank our generous community members who donate precious time and vital funds to assist the School in enabling projects such as these to become a reality for the benefit of current and future generations.
